[ARCHIVED] CITY OF ALBANY HOSTS TREE LIGHTING AT ACADEMY PARK

Albany, NY – Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan will host a tree lighting ceremony in Academy Park across the street from Albany City Hall on Friday, December 2nd at 5 p.m. in honor of the holiday season 5 to 7 p.m. with FREE refreshments, holiday crafts, live music and informational tables. 

The tree lighting ceremony kicks off with a concert by Amy Heebner on the historic Albany City Carillon beginning at 4:45pm. Mayor Sheehan, members of the Albany Tulip Court and city officials will light the tree at 5:30pm. Afterwards, enjoy a holiday performance by Albany High School Albanettes and Troubadours Choir, holiday crafts and FREE refreshments from Albany High Culinary Students and from Cider Belly Donuts. Representatives from local organizations will be on-hand with information on their programs and upcoming events.
