Purpose
The Mayor’s Advisory Council on Nightlife Economy was established to identify priorities and solutions that support a nightlife economy that is safe, inclusive, and fun for all.
The Council advises the Mayor on strategies to strengthen Albany’s nighttime economy while balancing economic vitality, public safety, affordability, and quality of life for residents, visitors, workers, and business owners.

Role & Functions
In accordance with the Executive Order, the Council is responsible for:
Assessing the economic impact of Albany’s nightlife
Identifying challenges and opportunities within the nightlife sector
Evaluating policies and strategies that support long-term growth
Making recommendations to the Mayor
Providing interim and final reports
