ALBANY POLICE INVESTIGATING TWO SEPARATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS

ALBANY, NY – Albany police are currently investigating two separate early morning shooting incidents that resulted in a total of nine people sustaining injuries.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020 at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to Second Street just west of Judson Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 52-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Shortly after the call, staff from Albany Medical Center Hospital notified police that a 31-year-old man had just entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg. It was later determined that he was also shot during the incident on Second Street.

Both men are currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to the area of Albany Street and Broadway for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, a 26-year-old man was located nearby with a gunshot wound to his leg.

As officers were on the scene, staff from Albany Memorial Hospital also notified police that two men, ages 21 and 27, had entered their emergency room with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities as a result of being shot during the incident on Albany Street.

Additionally, staff from Albany Medical Center Hospital reported that four men, ages 21, 22, 23, and 35, entered their emergency room with gunshot wounds. All four men also sustained injuries to their lower extremities. They were also shot on Albany Street.

All seven victims are currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
