TWO TEENS WHO FLED FROM OFFICERS WERE ARMED WITH HANDGUNS

ALBANY, NY – Two Albany residents have been charged with weapons possession following a foot pursuit yesterday afternoon on Harriet Myers Mews.  
 
On Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers attempted to stop two individuals on Harriet Myers Mews near Lark Drive as . As officers approached, both fled on foot towards the area of Lark Street and Manning Boulevard where they were apprehended by officers. 
 
Savion Jackson, 18, of Albany, was found to be in possession of a loaded .22 caliber revolver. 
 
The second individual, a 16-year-old male adolescent offender, was found to be in possession of a loaded .380 caliber handgun. His photo and name will not be released due to his age.  
 
Jackson was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and was remanded to the Albany County Jail. 
 
The 16-year-old adolescent offender is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon.
