ATF, Capital Region Crime Stoppers Offer Up to $5,000 for Information in Albany Shots Fired Incident that Resulted in Three-Year-Old Boy Being Shot

ALBANY, NY -The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), in partnership with the Capital Region Crime Stoppers program have offered a 
reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a shots fired incident Thursday afternoon in which a three-year-old boy was shot by a stray bullet.
On Thursday, July 18, 2019 at approximately 1:15 p.m., several shots were fired by a group in the area of Third Avenue and Teunis Street in Albany’s South End. As a result, a stray bullet fired during the incident entered an occupied daycare nearby and struck a three-year-old boy who was sleeping. The child sustained a gunshot wound to his arm and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. 
The investigation is being conducted jointly by the ATF and City of Albany Police Department.
