ALBANY, NY – Albany police are investigating an incident of shots fired in which a three-year-old boy was struck by a bullet. 
On Thursday, July 18th at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Third Avenue and Teunis Street for a report of shots fired. Shortly after the call, a second call was received for reports of a child who had been shot inside of a home near the corner of Third Avenue and Elizabeth Street.  
Preliminarily, it appears that a group had fired several shots on Third Avenue and one of the rounds fired struck a home at the corner of Third Avenue and Elizabeth Street. As a result, the round entered a room where a threeyear-old child was sleeping and he sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.  
The child was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.  
At this time the incident remains under investigation.
