The City of Albany encourages votes for the Beaver Creek CSO Abatement and Flood Mitigation Program in the “Smart Water” category. This innovative program implemented a smart infrastructure network that uses a continuous monitoring and adaptive control (CMAC) platform to proactively predict and manage wet weather flows. As the City of Albany continues to expand its smart infrastructure network, future CSO abatement/flood mitigation projects can serve to further expand the program.  The Albany Water Department collaborated with CHA to develop this “Smart Water” solution.

Public voting for the 2019 IDC Smart Cities North America Awards is open until 5:00 PM EST on Thursday, April 4, 2019 and winners will be announced on April 9th.
