SEARCH WARRANTS LEAD TO DRUGS, GUN ARRESTS

ALBANY, NY – Albany police recovered two loaded firearms and a quantity of narcotics following two separate search warrants Tuesday.


On Tuesday, August 22, 2018 at approximately 8:00 p.m., detectives executed a search warrant at 454 Livingston Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation. During the search warrant, a loaded .44 caliber revolver was located along with 25.6 grams of crack cocaine, 47 glassine envelopes of fentanyl, and 60 glassine envelopes of heroin.

Materials and equipment used for packaging, weighing and distributing the narcotics were also located inside of the residence.

Malik Williams, 20, Shanaya Hamilton, 27, and Freddie Ramirez, 42, were all arrested at the scene.

Each were charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

They were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., detectives executed a search warrant at 555 Second Street as part of an ongoing investigation. During the search warrant a loaded sawed off shotgun, as well as 11.4 grams of crack cocaine were located. Materials and equipment used for packaging, weighing and distributing the narcotics were also located inside of the residence.

Jalaah Stratton, 26, of Albany was arrested at the scene and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th and Criminal use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.
