ALBANY, NY – A 40-year-Albany man was arrested Saturday for possessing various drugs and a loaded handgun.

On Saturday, July 21, 2018 at approximately 9:30 a.m., during a joint investigation with the U.S. Department of Probation, Jamal Turner was located inside of a federal probationer’s 8 Theatre Row home with a quantity of ecstasy pills and 66 small bags (83.1g) of marijuana. A 9mm bullet was also located during his arrest.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers then proceeded to execute a search warrant at 28 Wilkins Avenue where Turner resides as part of the investigation. During the search warrant, a loaded 9mm handgun as well as 30 baggies of heroin were located inside of his residence.

Turner has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Loaded Weapon 2nd, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
