PROPERTY STOLEN IN BURGLARIES LOCATED IN STORE, BARBER SHOP

ALBANY, NY – Two men from local businesses have been arrested for possessing stolen property that was taken during recent burglaries.

Raysun Lantigua, 40, and Elhadi Abdalla, 54, were arrested following an investigation by members of the Albany Police Department.

On Monday, June 4, 2018 at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at 5 Star Barbershop, located at 110 Quail Street as part of an ongoing burglary investigation. During the search warrant, officers recovered property that was reported stolen to the Albany Police Department on May 27, 2018 during a burglary. Lantigua, who was in possession of the property was arrested. He was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at Delaware News and Grocery, located at 36 Judson Street as part of the same burglary investigation. While inside, officers found Abdalla in possession of stolen electronics that were reported stolen to the Albany Police Department earlier that day. He was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th.

Through the investigation, officers learned that the above businesses were buying the stolen property following burglaries in the city.

Both men were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.

The investigation into the burglaries is still ongoing.
