MAN TRAVELING WRONG WAY AND WITHOUT LIGHTS ON DIRT BIKE ARRESTED FOLLOWING CRASH

ALBANY, NY – A 26-year-old Albany man who was operating a dirt bike on Second Street was arrested following an incident in which he crashed into another vehicle.

On Saturday, June 9 2018 at approximately 11:10 p.m., Joshua Peebles was traveling east bound on Second Street (a one-way street that travels westbound) on a dirt bike without a head light when he crashed into a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Judson Street. As a result, Peebles was thrown over the handle bars and landed in the street. He proceeded to flee the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers who were nearby and witnessed the crash.

Peebles was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center for injuries he sustained to his leg as result of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle he struck was not injured.

Peebles has been charged with Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident, Failure to Yield and Traveling the Wrong Way on a One Way Street.

He is scheduled to appear in Albany City Criminal Court on June 15th.

Peebles was subsequently turned over to the Catskill Police Department where he had several warrants.
