ALBANY, NY – Albany police arrested two people involved in a domestic related incident that was posted in Facebook video.

On Wednesday, May 29, 2018 at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of Lark Street and Orange Street for reports of a male with a laceration to the head. Upon arrival, officers located 37-year-old Floyd Dewitt with a laceration his head that he sustained by being hit with a pipe during a domestic related incident.

Dewitt was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Through the investigation, officers learned that Dewitt was involved in a domestic related incident with Barbara Garcia, 31, inside their Lark Street residence that eventually made its way outside to Lark Street. During the incident, both Garcia and Dewitt became involved in a physical altercation that involved pipes. Garcia struck Dewitt in the head with a pipe causing the laceration. During the outside altercation, Dewitt also punched Garcia several times about the head, face and body.

Dewitt also kicked out the front windows of the residence during the incident causing them to break.

Dewitt has been charged with Assault 3rd, Menacing 2nd, and Criminal Mischief 4th.

Garcia was charged with Assault 2nd and Criminal Possession Weapon 4th.

Both were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.
