Black History Month Event

The City of Albany invites you to the Black History Month Event at City Hall Rotunda - "Community Arts Education"

The event will include workshops, community partner recognition, and creation of a group visual art project. Boys and Girls Club, Ujima Journey INC, Team Esteem Youth Empowerment, West Hill Refugee Welcome Center, Kitchen 216, Albany Public Library, and City of Albany Department of Recreation will be represented at the event. 

Students from Giffen Memorial Elementary School will recite an essay about Black History Month titled “What Black History Month Means to Me”

There will be a West African inspired masks creation table sponsored by the City of Albany Department of Recreation. West Hill Refugee Welcome Center will exhibit original art work from youth in West Hill.

This event is free and open to the public.
