Street Maintenance

Pothole Repair

Pothole repair is an ongoing aspect of the City of Albany’s street maintenance program. Repairs include the patching of potholes, depressions, bumps and pavement edge defects to City streets. In most instances, other municipal agencies are responsible for repair on State highways.

Street Repairs\Street Construction

The Department of General Services is responsible for all street repair and some street construction. DGS inspects all streets on a regular basis for depressions, street digs etc. If any of these are found DGS immediately makes the repairs to ensure the safety of the motorists and pedestrians. Every year DGS inspects the City and evaluates the streets in need of resurfacing. After evaluation the list is reviewed and the work is completed by DGS. This work is prioritized by severity.
