At Home Entertainment

In our current situation, staying away from others is the best way to stay healthy. Luckily, the City's Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) has launched At Home Entertainment to provide fun entertainment and activities you can do from home while you flatten the curve. This is a great way to stay connected and have fun while you stay home.

On our new YouTube channel, every Monday through Friday at noon we will post a local artists performing a cover at: #CapitalCovers. In a partnership with Discover Albany, the #518TulipTracker has updates on the progress of Tulip beds around the city along with what other businesses gardens look like and more once a week. Plus new podcast is released every Friday morning. This is a way to keep up with and continue to support community partners, and find out what they are working on and how they are keeping entertained during this time. This platform is also a place to reminisce about favorite Tulip Festival and Alive at Five memories and check in with the OCA staff and give folks an idea of what they do. You can find all these playlists and more on AlbanyEvents.org

OCA is also partnering with local public access stations, Albany Public Library and others to provide videos to the HYPER project. This project will provide entertainment as an hour long Albany segment that runs every day at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Currently the schedule is as follows, but stay tuned as we will be adding more content.

Monday The Arts
Tuesday  Local Businesses
Wednesday  Athletics
Thursday  Education
Friday  Cultural Programming

The public access station can be viewed here and is also available on Arts and Education - Spectrum Channel 1302 or Verizon Fios Channel 37. The content will also be available on the Albany Events Facebook and Instagram pages.
