Kelly Kimbrough

Kelly Kimbrough is a graduate of O’Neil High School in Highland Falls, New York.  He earned a BA in Sociology at SUNY Albany and joined the Albany Police Department in January of 1992.  While on the force he had several different assignments ranging from Uniformed Patrol Officer to Community Services Officer.  He is a family man with four beautiful children: Erik, Christopher and twin daughters Sydney and Taylor who all attended Albany Public Schools.

During his time with the Albany Police Department, Kelly worked with community leaders from across the city all with the same goal of making this city great, including the Honorable Barbara Smith.  They worked together to develop a neighborhood watch in Arbor Hill and allocated resources for young people called Positive Access to Home (PATH). This helped create safer, stronger neighborhoods, where students could walk home safely from Philip Livingston Middle School, and prior to its conversions to apartments.  As a Community Services Police Officer, Kelly worked hard to find solutions to the Fourth Ward residents’ public safety and quality of life issues.  As a leader he has been quoted as saying, “My priority leader in this great city has always been to make our community safer and as your Councilman I will always work to revitalize our neighborhood and create a stronger community.”
