[ARCHIVED] ALBANY POLICE INVESTIGATING PEDESTRIAN AUTO CRASH

ALBANY, NY – Albany police are currently investigating a serious pedestrian auto crash that occurred this evening on Washington Avenue. 

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded the intersection of Washington Avenue and Ontario Street for reports of a person struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man near the intersection who sustained traumatic injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle that was traveling on Washington Avenue. 

The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and has been transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition. 

At this time the investigation remains ongoing.

Washington Avenue from Quail Street to Ontario Street will be closed to all traffic until further notice and motorist are urged to seek alternate routes.
