Sustainability Advisory Committee

Established in 2013 by the City Council, the Sustainability Advisory Committee (SAC) is dedicated to advancing sustainability practices and uniting action on climate change within Albany.  Composed of fifteen members, including appointed Albany residents and key City Officials, the SAC is a dynamic force driving positive change. Together, we are shaping a greener future for Albany by promoting energy efficiency, environmental conservation, and sustainable living.

Operating under the Albany General Code Chapter 42 Part 8 Article XVIII Sections 42-132 to 42-138, our mission is to advise the Mayor’s Office, the Council and City Departments while collaborating with the Sustainability Department Director to foster sustainability in every aspect of the city.

Join us in building a greener, and brighter future for all residents for generations to come by being part of the conversation!
