Beaver Creek Satellite Facility Construction 

Project Description:

New floatables control and disinfection facility that will screen and disinfect combined sewage from the Beaver Creek Trunk Sewer that is discharged from Outfall No. 016, commonly referred to as Big C. Provide treatment for the Albany Pool Communities' largest CSO and will serve to further reduce bacteria counts and enhance the recovery time for the Hudson River.

Project Title

Beaver Creek Flow Management & Inflow Reduction

Project Description

Modernization of the flow controls within the “Big C” regulator to optimize the management of wet weather flows. Real-time flow controls will support operations of the Beaver Creek satellite treatment facility which is currently being constructed under the Order on Consent for the Albany Pool CSO LTCP. Improvements will achieve a 10.6 million gallon reduction in the untreated overflow volumes annually and prevent inflow from the Hudson River during periods of high river stages and estuary tidal surges.

Long Term Control Plan 

Project Description:

 - Albany - BMP-11: Liberty Overflow Removal. Elimination of CSO-015 Outfall to reduce annual CSO volumes and reduce impacts to the Hudson River.

- Albany - BMP-13: Schuyler Overflow Removal. Elimination of CSO-022 Outfall to reduce annual CSO volumes and reduce impacts to the Hudson River.

 - Troy - SSS-13: Van Buren Street Stream Separation. Diversion of an unnamed stream from the Combined Sewer System (CSS), to remove inflow to increase conveyance capacity and reduce the frequency and volume of CSOs.

 - Cohoes - SSS-14: Manor Avenue Sewer Rehabilitation. Sewer separation and rehabilitation work along Manor Avenue to reduce stormwater flows and infiltration in the CSS, reserving conveyance capacity and reducing the frequency and intensity of CSO events to the Hudson River.

 - Cohoes - STCF-04: “Little C” Floatable Control Facility. Collect floatable debris and materials associated with the “Little C” Outfall discharging to the Mohawk River.

 - Troy - TE-03: Cross Street Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Phase II. Replacement and/or rehabilitation of the sewer in the vicinity of Upper Campbell Avenue to reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) to reserve conveyance capacity in the CSS and reduce the frequency and intensity of CSO events to the Hudson River.
