62 Annual Albany Tulip Festival
Albany, New York – Mayor Jerry Jennings, the City of Albany and the Tulip Festival Committee seek nominations for the 2010 Tulip Queen.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Nominees must have a strong sense of community, be knowledgeable of Albany, and possess leadership skills. Nominees are women between the ages of 18 and 23, never married and must reside in Albany County for the entire year of her reign (May 2010 - May 2011). Albanytulipqueen.com explores the past and present achievements these extraordinary women are capable of reaching.
SCHOLARSHIP:The Tulip Queen will be awarded a $5000 scholarship, and each court member will receive a $1500 scholarship award upon completion of the year of reign.
MISSION:The Tulip Queen & Court members will serve as Albany’s ambassadors for one full year of reign. These ambitious young women will place a major focus on the Mayor Jerry Jennings Literacy Campaign and spend hundreds of hours promoting the value of reading to children. Each Queen and Court develop initiatives to further this goal.

This site provides easy access to the 2010 nomination form as well as information about the Tulip Queen and Court selection process, photos, events and blogs by the current Tulip Queen Juliana Hernandez & Court members Carly Brooks, Colleen Cavanaugh, Stephanie Herold & Rosa Richburg.
2) You may also nominate by submitting a letter detailing the candidate’s qualifications, as well as her name, address and phone number, and the nominator’s name and phone number to:
