Updated January 2, 2018

2018 Tax bills are prepared and 2018 property tax information is now available both online at (Check site) and in the Treasurer’s office, Rm. 110 in City Hall, 24 Eagle St.

TAX BILLS HAVE NOT YET BEEN MAILED, BUT WILL BE MAILED NO LATER THAN JANUARY 8, 2018.  Due to the change in tax law by the Federal Government, our Office’s acceptance of pre-payment of taxes and the necessity of avoiding confusion for taxpayers who have pre-paid their bill, we are unable to mail tax bills under our usual schedule for delivery on or after January 2, 2018.  In order to save taxpayer dollars and prevent duplicate payments, bills that remain unpaid as of January 3 will be mailed no later than January 8.

Therefore, PLEASE DO NOT CALL OUR OFFICE FOR A COPY OF YOUR TAX BILL UNTIL AFTER JANUARY 10, 2018.  If you want a copy of your tax bill now, you may pick one up at City Hall, Room 110, 24 Eagle St., you can view and print a copy of your bill online at, or you can e-mail us at, and we will e-mail you a copy of your tax bill ASAP, but no later than 24 hours from your e-mail.
THE BEST WAY TO PAY YOUR TAX BILL IS ONLINE  is online, through December 31, 2018 directly from your checking account. ONLINE PAYMENT FROM YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT IS BY FAR THE EASIEST METHOD TO MAKE PAYMENT AND OBTAIN PROOF OF PAYMENT (50 cent fee applies). You may also pay with a credit card for a 1.9% charge.
RECEIPTS will be mailed out in February for those who have requested them by mail. RECEIPTS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE ONLINE.  We expect e-receipts of all 2018 pre-payments to be available online on January 4 with a payment date of December 2017 (no fee applies), and receipts for all payments will be available online within 48 hours of posting of the payment.
