Emergency Services Team
The Albany Police Emergency Services Team is tasked as a resource to the Chief of Police in the resolution of High Risk Critical Incidents, to include, Hostage Rescue, Barricaded Suspects, High Risk Search Warrants and Dignitary Protection Details. The team has an authorized strength of 30 part time officers and trains two days a month, to include a 40-hour in-service training each year. The team remains flexible in it's training and operational capability and is well suited for additional tasks as the Chief may direct. The Team also conducts tactical training courses for outside agencies.
