Assistant Chief Anthony Bruno
Chief Bruno was
hired by the Albany Police Department in 1990. He was promoted to detective in
1992 and was assigned to the Juvenile Investigation Unit. He transferred to the
Criminal Investigation Unit in 1994 until he was promoted to Sergeant and
assigned to Patrol in 1997. In 1998 he was promoted to Detective/Sergeant and
assigned to the Office of Professional Standards. In 2001 he was promoted to
Detective/Lieutenant while still serving in the Office of Professional Standards
before becoming Commander of the Unit in 2002. In 2003 he transferred to
Commander of the Patrol Division before being promoted to Assistant Chief of
Patrol, in charge of daily operations of the Patrol Divison. In 2006 he was put
in charge of the Administrative Services Bureau where he overseas daily
operations of Administrative Services, Information Systems, Information
Coordination Unit, Communications, Training, and the Office of Professional
Standards.
