Special EventsThe City of Albany Office of Special Events and Volunteer services plans, produces and promotes City of Albany festivals, fairs and special events as well as numerous press conferences and ceremonies annually. These events range from WinterFestival, an alcohol-free family celebration of the Arts on the Saturday between Christmas and New Years, to the time honored tradition of the Albany Tulip Festival to the vibrant Alive at Five Summer Concert Series. Many of the events have won awards including the Hospitality Excellence Award from the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau, a creative programming award from First Night International, and Pinnacle Awards from the International Festival and Events Association.
The events promote arts, entertainment and cultural interest for all ages and demographics and draw an overall annual attendance of hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors to Albany and the Capital Region area.
