Forestry Division

The Department of General Service’s Forestry Division is responsible for all aspects of trees related issues on public right of way. Included in this are tree planting, dead tree removal, stump removal, tree trimming and numerous other concerns regarding City Owned Trees.

How The Service Is Obtained

This service is automatically obtained; if anyone should see a tree in need of care please contact The Department of General Services at 434-2489

Fees

There are no fees associated with tree maintenance and service.  Please see the Tree Planting Program Guide for fees associated with the planting of new trees.

The Shared Cost Tree Planting Program application

To encourage planting in the City of Albany, the city will underwrite one half of the cost of purchasing and planting a tree. The trees are to be planted in the city right of way in front of or on the side of your home. Trees are available to be planted for the spring and the fall planting, while supplies last. To receive an order form, call the Department of General Services at 434-2489.

Individuals with concerns about the Forestry Division may call the Department of General Services at 434-CITY, Monday through Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm
