Compost Facility

City of Albany compost is pure yard waste compost. Only brush, branches, leaves, and grass clippings collected from Albany residents or deposited directly at the Compost Facility are used to make City of Albany Compost. Wood chips and topsoil is also produced at the Compost Facility from organic waste collected throughout the city, including over 9,000 Christmas trees annually.

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to noon, and 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
However compost and wood chips can be obtained free of charge by city residents 7 days a week at the "Help Yourself " pick up station at the dead end of Erie Blvd.

Fees

Compost and wood chips are free to the City of Albany residents with a maximum of (5) five-gallon buckets limit, per visit. Non - residents may purchase these materials at $10.00 per cubic yards.
