Capital Hills Golf Course at Albany

Golf Course flag

The Golf Course facility is under the direction of the Department of General Services.  Capital Hills at Albany Golf Course is one of the most scenic courses in the Capital District. Capital Hills at Albany is open to both citizens and visitors alike. DGS is responsible for the complete maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse, restaurant and the surrounding grounds.

Course Description

A rolling hilly challenge is the origin of the course name. Back tees play from 6179 yards and provides a formidable test of golf. The course borders the Norman's Kill creek on six holes. The course was redesigned by Robert Smith and Edward Bosse and reopened for play as the New Course at Albany on July 12, 1991. The new course is much more playable than the old "goat hill" track. Golf clubhouse

The front nine includes one hole from the original course the 513-yard par five 1st. The front nine also includes water on two holes, the 285-yard par four 5th and the 370-yard par four 6th. The back nine finishing holes include our signature hole the 406-yard 17th hole, a dogleg right to an elevated green where par is hard to come by. If you're having problems with your game our professional staff can provide individual lessons or we can tailor a package for you! The staff also provides clinics throughout the year for beginners, ladies and juniors.

If you have any questions call the Pro Shop. The driving range is lighted and open till 9 p.m. every day and is full grass hitting area. Carts are available as are rental clubs and pull carts. Martel's restaurant provides full service breakfast, lunch and dinner or a quick snack at the turn.
