Board of Zoning Appeals

All development projects proposed in the City of Albany must comply with the City's Zoning Ordinance. In cases where hardship or practical difficulties make compliance very difficult or impossible, the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) understands there is need for exceptions in regards to land use, building requirements or business functionality. The BZA is responsible for holding public meetings where Applicants and/or their representatives may appeal for an exception to the City's Zoning Ordinance in the for a variance or other special permit opportunity.
