Overview
The Comptroller is the City’s Chief Fiscal Officer and is a citywide elected official. The Comptroller is responsible for debt issuance, cash management, claims processing, auditing all payments made by the city, and performing internal audits of city departments. The Comptroller’s office maintains the city’s accounting system and is responsible for issuing the city’s financial statements. The Comptroller’s office is composed of two divisions: Accounting headed by Deputy Comptroller Ken Bennett, and Auditing headed by Deputy Comptroller Debra Pullano.

Financial Statements Quarterly Reports
In addition to issuing annual financial statements, the comptroller prepares quarterly reports for the Common Council and the Mayor. Audits
The Comptroller works with various city departments to improve financial practices and internal controls. The office selectively performs actual audits of various city operations.
