Albany Housing Authority
The Albany Housing Authority provides housing
accommodations for persons of low income. The Housing Authority has the
power to investigate into living conditions in the City of Albany and
how to improve such conditions, construct, improve, alter and repair
any project, lease or rent dwelling units to persons of low income and
hold hearings and conduct investigations for any matter related to the
Housing Authority.
The Housing Authority consists of seven
members who serve five-year terms. Only one member of the Authority
may be a City employee or official. The Mayor appoints five members
and Housing Authority tenants elected two members.
